DEP is working with the Liverpool Culture Company and Arts Council North West to produce a programme of dance participation events as part of the national Big Dance 2008 project. The work that DEP is putting together will take place during the weekend of the 12th /13th July 2008 in Liverpool City Centre. DEP is responsible for putting the programme of events together and commissioning relevant artists / arts organisations to deliver the project, managing existing and new stakeholder relations, liaising with press and marketing teams at both ACE and LCC.
DEP is currently working with Scottish Dance Theatre as International Producers. DEP is working to raise the company’s profile on the international market and to seek out performance opportunities for the company outside of the UK. As a result of the work DEP has done with SDT so far, the company will be performing in Greece, Cyprus and Germany during 2008.
DEP has been working with Ballet Lorent as Consultant Producers for 12 months. During this period DEP has worked with the company on raising its international profile, improving its production process for new work, revisiting the business plan and mentoring the general manager. DEP also played a key role in the creation and production process of the company’s newest Production “Designer Body” and the revival and subsequent tour of existing work “Anglemoth”. In addition DEP also facilitated Ballet Lorent’s board away and business plan review.
DEP is currently working with Vincent Dance Theatre as International Producers. As a result of the work that DEP has done on behalf of VDT, the company have pencilled performances for 2008 in Holland, Germany, Israel and Spain. Discussions and plans with potential partners for tours to the USA and China in 2009/2010 are at an advanced stage.
DEP worked with Diversity Dance as Executive Producers over a 14 month period. During this time, DEP was responsible for bringing in funding totalling £100,000 including a significant Arts Council Grants for the Arts grant and a new three-year agreement with Kirklees Council as a regularly funded client. DEP also produced the new work and managed the production process for the company, which then toured the UK during September 2007. DEP wrote the company’s new 3 year business plan, updated all company polices and put together the staff handbook. DEP will be working with Diversity Dance again in 2008 to produce the new work and tour to take place in late 2009.

DEP worked with Horse and Bamboo over an 18 month period in an Associate Producers role on the company’s 30th anniversary production ‘Veil’. DEP was involved in sourcing the funding from ACE to both make and tour the work as well as working closely with the artistic team to support them in the realisation of the piece from the first draft of the script to the first performances. The work premiered in February 2008 at the Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield before embarking on an initial 24 date UK tour which DEP booked in conjunction with the company’s Executive Producer. DEP also played a key role in the development of the marketing campaign for the tour. In addition to ‘Veil’, DEP has also negotiated a new co-production agreement between publishers Barefoot Books and Horse and Bamboo for a new work, which will premiere in 2009.

DEP has been mentoring the General Manager at Stopgap Dance Company for a 16 month period. This work has taken place by means of quarterly 1:1 sessions with telephone and e-mail contact in between. Stopgap has recently gone through a series of company changes and developments and DEP has been able to support the General Manager through these changes and given her an opportunity to talk through the various issues facing the company. DEP will continue to mentor the General Manager during 2008.
